Dialysis Fluid (post dialysis)

All effluent dialysis fluid should be collected should be collected into a clean, new, plastic, sealable container (from a batch known to be aluminium free), The pooled sample should have its volume measured (this may be done by weighing the container, prior to use, reweighing after collection (container plus specimen), subtracting the container weight from the total gives the sample weight (assuming a density of 1g/mL is acceptable for conversion to volume), weighing accuracy to 2% of the sample mass is acceptable. An aliquot of the pooled sample (minimum 10 mL) should then transferred to a clean, new, plastic, aluminium free universal container, because of the large volume of sample available, the container should be rinsed several times with the pooled sample prior to final filling, with the aliquot, for analysis.

A minimum of 10 mL sample of the pooled effluent fluid should be collected into a clean, new, plastic and aluminium free universal container.
