Methodology: Enzyme Immunoassay using human recombinant antigen.
Indications: As an aid in the diagnosis of gluten-sensitive enteropathies such as coeliac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis
Protocol: Samples are screened for IgA-specific anti-tissue transglutaminase (tTG). Positive tests are confirmed by IgA immunofluorescence using endomysium. Total IgA is measured to exclude IgA deficiency. If IgA deficiency is present then IgG-specific antibodies are performed by immunofluorescence using endomysium.
