Telephone Enquiries

The combined clinical laboratories at RLUH handle extremely large numbers of telephone enquiries each day. For example, Clinical Chemistry alone deals with in excess of 1000/day. The majority are for results. Laboratory reports are delivered to the wards four times a day. The results of all urgent requests are telephoned/faxed as soon as they are available. In addition, seriously abnormal results are always telephoned. Consequently, we expect that genuine telephone enquiries for results should be a rare event. However, if you still need to telephone for results, please verify that you have the correct extension number and ensure that the following essential information is to hand:-
