Blood Transfusion - Other Blood Products

Contact the laboratory for any of the following:

  1. *Platelets - (ABO and Rhesus Group required)
  2. *Fresh Frozen Plasma - (ABO Group required)
  3. *Cryoprecipitate
  4. *Granulocytes
  5. +20% Human Albumin Solution (= salt poor)
  6. +4.5% Human Albumin Solution
  7. +Clotting Factor Concentrates (including Factor VIII and Prothombin Complex Concentrates)
* These products must be used immediately
+ These are medicinal products and can only be prescribed on a named patient basis. Any products not used cannot be given to another patient and MUST be returned to the Transfusion Laboratory.
