G6PD Qualitative screen - this procedure can only differentiate between NORMAL and DEFICIENT samples.
G6PD result will be reported as either Normal G6PD level or Deficient G6PD level.
If G6PD screen result is deficient and the sample is less 96 hours old, the sample will be sent of for quantitation and confirmation. If not, a fresh EDTA sample will be requested to be sent away for quantitation and confirmation at Haematology Dept, Manchester University NHS Foundation Hospital (UKAS 8650)
